Dr Ajay Velayudhan is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years’ experience. Dr Velayudhan has been leading a large and complex mental health service in Western Australia for the last 8 years. He is also a supervisor and examiner for psychiatric trainees and supervisor and assessor for overseas trained psychiatrists seeking FRANZCP qualifications.

Dr Velayudhan’s expertise is in general adult psychiatry, managing various conditions including mood disorders, psychotic conditions, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders and substance use disorders.

Dr Nicholas Ho graduated in Medicine from the University of Melbourne, and subsequently trained in Psychiatry in Sydney and Perth. Dr Ho has completed a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Behavioural Science. Dr Ho has a longstanding commitment to a holistic and trauma-informed approach to care. He has an interest in the role of trauma in the development of mental health disorders and its role in shaping behaviour.

He has experience and expertise in general psychiatric conditions, forensic psychiatry, and medicolegal reporting.

Introducing Next Health’s spotlight doctor for the week: Dr Nicole Leeks, Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Dr Nicole Leeks is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in foot and ankle surgeries and all aspects of paediatric conditions.

Dr Nicole Leeks studied Medicine at the University of Western Australia in 1989 and moved to Sydney to work in the Royal Australia Navy. She relocated back to Perth in 1996 to pursue a surgical career in orthopaedics and she finished the Advanced Surgical Training Scheme in 2002.

Dr Nicole Leeks is available for in person assessments in Perth and Kalgoorlie.
